2023 SLIC Conference Spotlight: Michael Makropoulos
Meet Michael Makropoulos! He is a senior level executive with nearly 40 years of security, operations and technology management experience. He has led many different groups, programs and initiatives, both nationally and internationally in Europe and the Middle East, ranging across operations, security, and global expansion. Currently, Mr. Makropoulos is the Managing Partner at Palisade International, a security consulting and technology integration firm that provides services across the spectrum of physical security, personal security and risk.
Additionally, Michael leads a team of Executive Protection agents that provide close protection to celebrities, business executives, pastors, professional athletes and dignitaries both inside the United States as well as in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Makropoulos combines the disciplines of risk assessment, vulnerability analysis and case management to projects related to a company’s executive, physical and operational security.
Previous to Palisade International, Mr. Makropoulos served in a number of executive leadership roles for well known, Fortune 100 companies.
Mr. Makropoulos is a licensed private detective in GA, a GA state instructor, an officer in the Georgia DoD, coach of the National Guard Marksmanship team, an NRA, USCCA instructor, a military weapons instructor, a weapons simulator instructor, and a practicing martial artist for over 40 years across a wide array of styles and disciplines. He is a previous board member at Georgia Association of Professional Private Investigators (GAPPI.)

A resident of Roswell, GA of nearly 30 years, Michael gives back to the community by providing Active Shooter Response and Home Invasion Prevention seminars to companies, churches, and communities. Michael holds a B.A. from the University of Redlands, is conversant in French and understands / speaks portions of several other languages.
