DON’T Confront Your Spouse Until You Have Proof

No matter what feelings you have toward your spouse at this time, do not confront them until you know their infidelity is a fact. Oftentimes people become withdrawn or secretive when there are problems happening in their life they’re ashamed to talk about – this does not always mean cheating. Additionally, accusing him or her of cheating before you have proof can make them pull away more and make it that much hard to gather evidence. As hard as it may be, try your best to keep your suspicions under wraps until you have hard evidence that they cannot dispute. 

 

Keep a Journal of Your Spouse’s Suspicious Activity

If your husband or wife is working late or going out without you, keep record of this. This information can become useful to a private investigator when it comes time to track your spouse’s whereabouts. Having a log can also help you identify your husband or wife’s patterns and find something that appears out of the ordinary. As their spouse, you know what may look unusual or suspicious. 

Write down the following:

• The date and time 
• Their excuse for working late or why you’re not invited 
• Who’s attending the outing or at work with them
• The location they say they are 
• What time they come home 

 

Pull Banking Statements to Look for New or Unfamiliar Spending Habits

Cheaters might be able to cover their tracks when it comes to hiding phone numbers or texts on their phone, but bank statements can provide the proof you need. Majority of the time, a person having an affair will be spending money on the other man or woman.

Do keep in mind, this does not 100 percent mean they are cheating as there could be other reasons for a change in spending habits. However, it is something that you should document regardless. 

Look for the following:

• New credit cards
• ATM withdrawals 
• Large purchases you were unaware of
• Charges that from a different city or state
• Large sums of money being loaded onto their Venmo/Cashapp
